Boarding School For Asthmatics

A Memory of Broadstairs.

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help me. I attended a boarding school in Dumptom Gap, Broardstairs 1965/1966 as I had asthma. I have found the building when I returned to Broardstairs a few years ago but can't seem to find any trace of the school!
The heads name as I remember was Mrs Hubbard, the school was high on the cliff, we had a goat called Mary and had to go for long walks twice a day.
If you have any memory's of the school could you please share.
Thank you Lorraine

Hey Lorraine.
My name is Stephen Andrews and I was there the same time as you. My Dormitory was "Dolphins" that is the one with ice on the window in the winter. Miss Brunwin was Miss Hubbards no2 and my housemother was Margeret. They were all kind people. Longest walks on the Sunday pm I hated Sundays and doctor who in the study at the bottom of the grand stairs. Spent a lot of time with cook as covered in excema as well and could not swim for my first year. The soup and croutons and the isolation wing and new school rooms were built during my 4.5 years. Travelled on the train from Folkestone on my own age 6 and changed at Dover. Got picked up miss h in her powder blue saab. Day trips to pegwell bay reculver and Canterbury got some pictures of me in classroom and up a slide in the rear garden somewhere...
