1944 VI Flying Bomb

A Memory of Bursledon.

This isn't really a memory because I was too young at the time. I was born in a timber bungalow called "Midway" on Lowford Hill, Bursledon in April 1942. Dad was working at the Follands aircraft factory at that time, building war planes. Mum, my older brother Guy, and I moved to Findon Valley in West Sussex in 1944 following a near-miss from a VI Flying Bomb. Fortunately it landed on vacant ground across the road from where we were living and the house sustained fairly minor damage. I have been trying, fruitlessly, to track down any reference to this incident. I know that a VI landed at Sholing, Southampton, at about this time, so perhaps we had moved house between my birth and the VI attack. This seems unlikely since the Sholing strike demolished at least one house. The alternative is that the VI that nearly put an end to us was a totally separate one. I have spent long hours trying to track this down via the Internet and would be most grateful if anyone can point me in the right direction to solving this enigma.
Many thanks in anticipation.
