Highcroft School, Castle Bromwich

My parents owned Highcroft Preparatory School from 1958 until 1969 when our family moved from Castle Bromwich to Swanage in Dorset.

Hello Michael. I was at the school from 1959 until maybe 1962. I was in Mrs Ryan's class. it was in the older part of the house. I remember a new wing was built on the right of the house as you look from the road. Your mum was very strict, a little frightening if I might add. I recall soup in mugs at lunchtime, either tomato or oxtail. I also remember doing a pooh on my short trousers during lesson and Mrs Ryan being slightly displeased about having to clean the resulting mess out of my trousers. My dad was called and told to collect me from the school. Very awkward. Richard Singleton

at Highcroft. Am I correct in thinking you had a sister called Pat/Patricia ?
You have an amazing memory of those school days.
I found Mrs Ryan quite fearsome.
