Morris Bros

A Memory of Ealing.

Does anyone remember Morris Bros, Gents' Outfitters - I THINK must have been in Ealing High Street. I worked there for three summers in the early 70s, walking over from my sister's house in Mayfield Avenue. Mr Morris himself (I suppose a surviving younger bro, like "young" Mr Grace in Are You Being Served) I remember as a slight, fussy man with a pink complexion and a carefully coiffed bush of dyed (I'd now guess, though it didn't occur to me at the time) ginger hair, who could have been any age from 60 to 80 as far as I could tell - I'd think for all his fussing a sufficienly shrewd businessman, as the shop seemed to prosper. I suppose he must have retired not too long after my time of being his temporary employee, and the shop closed down.
