Thé Brigg! Thé fishermen’s slipway - cobble landing. The beach and our dogs Pip and Tina whom I will always love and never ever forget! Thank you Filey for my childhood and all the wonderful memories!! I’m now 71 by the way.

Thé café chips were amazing - so was the smell! I used to pack spuds in plastic bags to sell to the campers in the shop. Tony and I used to do the milk round for the campers! I spent all my early summer holidays at the valley! Christmases were amazing !! Must have visited this store. We spent many wonderful holidays in the early 50's staying in the caravan belonging to one of the friends of my parents.
My name is Gerald Jennings I lived in Primrose valley& Fileyfrom 1946to 1954. I have just spent a day in Filey, my first visit since I was on holiday there with my parents in the mid 50’s.
I have a vivid memory of us walking along the Brigg and having a Horlick in the cafe at the end of the Brigg.
Does anyone know when the cafe closed and is there any of the building still visible.
I have a vague memory, probably from the early sixties, of arriving at this home on a very grey, sad day. I don’t know to this day why we went there but the trauma of being with a group of let’s say disadvantaged boys was not our family’s finest hour. Please can anyone help me, I'm looking for photos of primrose Valley in the 70s onwards, as a child I spent my holidays there and came across some great friends I'm 52 now, it would be really nice to hear from anyone who went there the same time, a memory I have is I used to help the men on the tractor move caravans around the site, I would be the one who put the chains on so they could tow it, if anyone has any photos ...see more
I used to work at the Primrose Valley holiday park back in the mid eighties. I remeber the house well as it was used as lodgings for the staff that didn't live locally. I think a elderly lady lived on the ground floor and the first and second floors had been turned into bedsits. I was only 16 at the time and worked the season until moving on to York
I can remember the arcade very well; there was a chap working in there and was very much like Elvis Presley who had jet black hair with a quiff. There was also a hair salon on site, that is where I had my first grown up hair cut (a paige boy).
Can anyone help? I have been trying to find information about the convelescent home at Primrose Valley in Filey. I believe I was sent there in the 1950's but nothing's coming up on the web. I was sent there to convalesce after many throat infections. I was chatting to someone who lived in Filey but had no idea of the place I was speaking about.
