George Street, Grays

A Memory of Grays.

Have so many memories of the State and the post office but we are trying to remember what the shops were to the right hand side as you look at the State. From the 1930s to 1990s would help if anyone can remember. Thank you.

I remember a small shop that repaired nylon stockings and a sweetshop next door.Right near the State cinema.

The sweet shop next to the State was called the Mascot. My wife's aunt ran the shop in the 1950-60s
Flints - toy shop could buy caps for guns etc. Burneys - very nice dress shop.
Apologies, the small shop was Filbys not flints,
Flints was sort of hardware shop on corner of Derby road. Goodness doesn't this get the little grey cells working.
