A Memory of Hounslow.

i LIVED IN HOUNSLOW from 1932 TILL 1967
Went to Spring Grove Central school was marred at the Congregational Church my wife had my son there I did some part time teaching at Isleworth Polytechnic and subsequently Spring Grove Adult Centre the only person I am now in touch with who I knew then is in a Home in Andover we were at school together. I remember clearly the war years and all the old shops in the High Street, Webbers, Peakes Platts Waldrens and the Escalator being installed in the then Co-op + the 5 cinemas which were almost always full on a Saturday night
1 and nine for a cheap seat organ playing, news, cartoon, second film and the main one those were the days couldn't see the screen for cigarette smoke, and I am still going strong at 85
