I remember Hounslow I was bout three years old my grandad worked for the Weston bakery I think that's what it was called just past Hounslow hospital , he delivered bread by horse and cart round the roads , his name was Henry whitehead .I remember platts store old woolworths at the end of the high street it was called the six pence shop. My name wasJanet Whitehead then I went to Bulstrode girls school in the sixties, One of my teachers was Mrs balls ,my friends where Maureen Oliver Margaret twining , Mavis Bowden .the headmistress was Mrs Collins also there was a teacher called Miss Hull It would nice to get in touch with anyone who remembers me. I lived in Grove Road. I now live in sunbury .
Although I lived in Southall I have many memories of Hounslow. I was wondering if anyone knew of a Peter Edward Goodall who lived in Bulstrode Road in the 1960's and possibly later than that. Any information would be great. I live in Jersey Channel Islands now and don't get back very often.

Please can anyone tell me the name of the park down Martindale Road, where there was, a children's park, once a park keeper, bowls and tennis courts. My family lived in Martindale Road for almost ever !!!!! I had lots of stays and the park was a sort of playground. So many happy memories of that area.
I used to live in Hinton Avenue, off Barrack Road. I went to school in Martindale Road initially and then onwards to he Junior School in Cambridge Road leaving in 1961. Mr Such was headmaster, Mrs Wilson was my first teacher here, followed by Miss Elborn, Mr Gilbert and Mrs Peck. Does anyone remember "The Beatles" filming a segment for the film "A Hard Days Night" on Thornbury playing fields Hounslow in 1964? The surrounding streets were full of fans...........Were you one of them? It is now of course Stanborough road and the spot where the "Beatles filmed is now a children's play area.
I moved to Litchfield Road, Hounslow in 1952, the houses were new. I moved away to Hanworth in 1967. I went to Beavers infants & junior school them Woodfield secondary modern school. I loved living in Hounslow and have many happy memories. My sisters and I often walked to Hounslow West for fresh bread for the weekend in Giltrows. Worked in the sweetshop next to the cinema opposite Hounslow West station, which was the end of the Piccadilly line in those days.
i LIVED IN HOUNSLOW from 1932 TILL 1967 Went to Spring Grove Central school was marred at the Congregational Church my wife had my son there I did some part time teaching at Isleworth Polytechnic and subsequently Spring Grove Adult Centre the only person I am now in touch with who I knew then is in a Home in Andover we were at school together. Woolworths Circa Nov 1966 onwards.. Half day then full day. Old £ s p tills.. Special uniform. Worked on electrical counter after toys. Great joy of finally working on record counter! Playing anything from Monkees to Small Faces!! Got pay end of day in brown packets.
