I was a Saturday girl at Woolworths Hounslow West. Worked on the sweet counter, pinched the odd jelly baby! Had my regulars, who always waited for me to be free! I remember the brown wage envelopes and we had cheap lunches, 1s 6p
I think. Always a hot meal and a dessert. I remember getting stung by a wasp, in the ear, hurt like hell. Manager took me to chemist next door. All loose sherbert and lemonade powder then..... grand days.
