Sun lounges were in fashion, partly thanks to George Bernard Shaw, who had his entire house fitted out with windows of Vita glass. Canework chairs like the ones we see here were made by firms like Lloyd Loom; they proved long-lasting, and are still popular in the conservatories of the 21st century.
