I remember there being an Ashby's in Tonbridge Road down the road from the old trolley bus depot. My grandfather worked there as a cashier.

Does anyone recall the name of the wonderful pork butcher in Maidstone High Street in mid 1960 s just along from Chiesmans department store ( which was on the corner of pudding lane and high st). My mum used to buy me sliced cold pork there for my lunchtime sandwich . The pork was to die for !!
