Shortgrove Hall
A Memory of Newport.
Not long after this photo was taken, the building was completely destroyed by fire.
At the time it belonged to the Butler family. Charles being the owner. I remember he had a model railway set up, that extended from room to room on the ground floor.
The shortgrove estate was I believe about 2000 acres of arable/pasture/woodland.
I knew many of the farm workers.
Happy days.
