Covered in ivy, the imposing and ancient structure of Norton parish church stands above the Green in a peaceful churchyard. Dedicated to St Mary the Virgin, the building has Saxon origins. Many of the eminent former residents of Stockton and Norton are buried here, and Thomas Sheraton, the world-famous furniture designer, was married in the church in 1779 – he was born in Stockton in 1751.

Hello, This picture is of my Grandfather Jock (Craik) in Norton. I'd love to know who took the picture. Its brought back lots of memories for my Mother and her sister. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Sara Marsay
