More about this scene

At Parkmill we can see the earth bank or pale, with its wall and inside ditch, which marks the boundary of the deer park known as Park le Breos. The medieval deer-park was divided into three farms. The Gower Heritage Centre in Parkmill village has the 12th-century water mill at its centre. The mill outbuildings have been converted into craft workshops where an artist, a potter, a blacksmith, a jeweller, a wheelwright, a mason and a carpenter may be seen at work.

A Selection of Memories from Parkmill

For many years now, we've been inviting visitors to our website to add their own memories to share their experiences of life as it was, prompted by the photographs in our archive. Here are some from Parkmill

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

For my sister, Carol, and I, Parkmill meant only one thing - Shepherd's Shop. The only place to buy ice cream and sweets and even the new 'Coca Cola'. We always stopped here on our way to and my aunt's wooden bungalow almost on the beach at Three Cliffs Bay where we spent many, many happy summers. What wonderful days they were.
