A Memory of Runcorn.

When I went to Holy Trinity School in the 1950.s the school class was49 children 1 teacher. when we had a different subject we just changed books. one of the highlights of school was going to ferry hut where we had a drawing lesson drawing the church opersite in Widnes.which was in Lancashire in them days and then on to a new school the grange.the down side is we left school at 14 years old and then started work where has all them years gone but not the happy times of school. who else remembers The Trinity School in old Runcorn

Hi Neville , are you the same lad that lived in lime grove , if so I lived next door no14 , we knocked around together and had some laughs , I went to parish school and then on to grange secondary modern , your sister Sylvia was a beauty queen , I lived in lime grove till I was 20 , I worked for greigs putting marquees up all over the place . You must have moved into THE LUDGATE s house. Yes I AM THE OLD FRIEND who lived next door to you. My Sister Sylvia was the Runcorn.Widnes Bridge Queen in 1962.Sadley she died in jan 2020. I left Lime Grove in oct 1962. and joined the Royal Artillery for the next 9 years. Serving in Germany in the Cold War. With the First Nuclier Guided Rockets in the British Army. Then I.C.I. Nothwich for the next 22 years. Then my own Taxi Company for 21 years. Now 76 years old in Retirement. and i have a Son.Daughter.3 Grandsons. 1 Granddaughter. 3 Geat Grandsons. Where has all that time gone? since we played cricket@ with the lamp post for wickets.
