Lillah Street ( Off Cross Lane ),Salford...Lilian Bond,Joseph Burton & Hilda Hibbert

A Memory of Salford.

Hi everyone.
My mum is Salford born and bred .Her name was LILIAN BOND born in 1947. She lived at 21 Lillah Street, next to the `corner`shop at 23, which was previously owned by her grandad JOSEPH BURTON in the 1920s.
Mum went to a primary school on Liverpool Road but cant remember the name of it and then went to Clarendon Secondary Modern. Her best friend in those days was ANN JONES.
Does anyone remember her? Or the shop in Lillah street ?
Mum remembers playing on the `red rec` and the cattle market nearby, where she says quite often animals would escape and trot past her house !
Her Auntie Hilda also had a `corner shop` up near Buile Hill Park on Wychbury Street. Her name was HILDA HIBBERT ( nee Burton )
Mum moved to Wigan in the 1960s where she still lives now but fondly talks about Salford and as i am researching our family tree i would love to find out more about the area around Lillah street and maybe even contact long lost relatives.!
