My Birthplace
A Memory of Seer Green.
I was born in Seer Green over 60 years ago. It has,and always will be my first home. I have lived abroad for the past 30 years. I return to S.G. at least once a year to visit my mother and sister and enjoy the nostalgia of walking through Green Wood with the memories of all the sqirrel chasing with the old dog barking and going crazy.Lots of football "up the medda" Tearing around the village on our bikes causing mayhem. All innocent stuff looking back. There was barely 2000 people in the village back then. Certainly, we knew all the names of the people down our street ( Hearnes Meadow) and most of the others in the village - not so now! Lots of good memories of my upbringing, not to mention the great times down the Shoes and old Bpb Cyster in the Crickiters with his shotgun behind the bar to frighten off the riffraff. Shame to have lost contact with all the mates I had back then. Most of them scattered over the planet like me. What to do.That seems to be the way of the world, and, of course many are not with us anymore! Could carry on reminiscing but just to say everytime I return to S. G. I feel I`ve come home!
