Grandparents Who Were The Perry’s!
A Memory of Selby.
Me and Mrs Perry, Stan and Joyce were my beloved grandparents. You probably had different memories of them to me as I was a spoilt only child of Kathryn Perry, and my auntie Karen Perry. I lost my grandfather aged 4 and my Grandmother at aged 19. And I know they both could find the tiniest scerick of flesh on your body to hit with a ruler when you/I misbehaved!! I would love to hear your stories of them, good and bad, just to get a feel of who they really were! Their humour, intellect etc. I also was in Miss Stafford’s class. She never liked me, I’m assuming this may have been because of my genealogy! 🤣 xx I’d love to hear any stories x

The point is i have always been led to believe that i was related to them,it was on my dads side of the family, but i am not aware just how close i was related, some have said he and my dad were cousins but i can't verify,as my parents and everybody on my dads side are now longer with us,
Still its nice to here other peoples memories, thank you for sharing them
hear them. Many thanks Laura
Sorry to hear about Joyce, i was always led to believe Joyce was the connection between our two families.
I am not sure how your Grandma and my Dad were related my dad was Paul and he was the son of Harry Bradley, who had his own shop in Selby. It was where the library is now, he was a cobbler, mending shoes and boots and making leather goods, i can smell it now, sadly long gone.
My dad had a sister called Mary who became a Pickering and lived on the courtneys estate in Selby, Mary passed away about 8 years ago now, she was the loveliest person i have ever met, she was always happy and always had time for a chat. My dad sadly died in 2010 aged 83, so as time passes there is less people to gather information from, i have so many gaps that i would love to fill in, and you have done so with your comment.
Not sure what relation we are, something like 5th cousin 2nd time removed or something😂.
Any way thanks for the memory, the smallest piece of info means a lot to me. xxx 💖
