Park Lane.
A Memory of Thatcham.
I moved to Park Lane in 1948.I was about 2 years old.Lived there with my Family till about 1956.It was all fields at the back of our house. At the top of the road was the Junior School I went to.It had about 4 class rooms.I can still remember how young my Mum and Dad looked then,as if it was now.At the bottom of Park Lane was the main road, with hardly any traffic at all.We used to wait for my Dad there to come home from work on his bicycle.I remember the Broadway and used to go to the Infant School there, which is no doubt gone now.The was a Park just off of the main road and opposite an ice cream shop.I also remember the level crossing at Thatcham Station.I can only see Thatcham as it was then,a small Village.I bet it's now full of houses and more like a Town, but I would like to go back to have a look at my Childhood home that was full of lovely memories.
