My Home Town..
A Memory of Twickenham.
My family moved to COPTHALL GARDENS around 1955/6. I attended St James School (behind the police station) with my elder brother and younger sister. I have been back to see the school (the only known school with a playground on the roof) it is still there but is now an office block. We played on the river, around the river, in the river and sometimes came close to staying in the river. We had fun as only children can. As we grew up we went to Eel Pie and watched many young bands (now famous) testing their stuff.. I left home joined the RN and now live in Southsea. I have been back for visits (Mum and Dad are buried here). Of course I also visit for all the Rugby I can.. I love Twickenham it is my home town.
