Memories of Biggleswade
Hello I have no memory of Biggleswade but very interested because I was born there I lived in Stotfold and went to infant school there and used to visit Letchworth and Hitchin but left the area to go and live in Denham Bucks. I now live in Windsor have moved around quite a lot in my life
I love this photo because it contains my parents and brothers. The man with his foot on the wheel of the pushchair is my dad, Don Webb, and the woman to his left is my mum, Mary. The small boy between them is my brother Ian and my other brother, Graham, is in the pushchair. Sadly, only Ian is still alive.
I visited in 1990 and found an ancestors grave. I am a descendant of George Edward Capon. I now live in Australia. I have a 3rd cousin here too.
In the late 50's early 60's my aunty Doreen and uncle Harold Willbye ran the Black Bear in Biggleswade. I loved going there, the old pub with stables out the back was fantastic as were the walks with their dog Dusty down by the river. We emigrated to Australia when I was 12 and a half, which was 50 years ago this year, but my fond memories of Biggleswade still remain.
