Cycle Shop Chingford Mount In The 1960s And 1970s

A Memory of Chingford.

Does anyone remember the cycle shop - either at the top or bottom of Chingford Mount? Can't remember which. Run by Harold Baker (my great uncle) and his wife Betty?

I remember buying a bell from the bike shop down the mount. We rode our bikes from north chingford along Valley Side. The bell was red. We rode our bikes every where, such fun such great memories. I am 69 now and my son will not let me ride a bike on the road as it is too dangerous, funny how the tables turn isn’t it?
Bakers was next to the launderete on the last row of shops on the left towards the church at the top of the hill.For£22 O purchased my Elswick bike from Bakers in 1958.Still breathing and cycling.
