Bucsh House Open Air School

A Memory of Isleworth.

I went to Bucsh House Open Air School from about 1961 to 1966. Miss Halladay was my teacher. Class 5. The class had huge windows which were opened it was chilly at times. Miss Burrage was the Head Mistress. Miss Sherwood was the School nurse. I remember Mr Smith my next teacher he was bald and wore a beret. My favourite subject was history. Our other teacher's were Mr Sutton ( Smith) Miss Williams, Mrs Lillycrap she taught art and Sport. I also remember the Bee Keeping. My best friend was Susan Golder my other friends were Jennifer Judson and Sandra Copeland and her cousin Stuart East Other students at the school I remember are Robert Winters, Glen Palmer, Neil Major, Rosemary Cripps there were identical twins Mark and Russell ? I think that they were Canadian? Because the reason for attending the Open Air style school was poor health after lunch we had 30 minutes rest time. Some of us had to have a sleep on canvas beds. We were given our blanket ( We all had our own one each numbered ) mine was number 9. We had our own toothbrush and towel too.
I have looked at the the photos of Bucsh House it looks just like I remembered.

I also attended bush house open air school not sure how many years maybe one or two think I left around 1959 - 1961 think my teacher was miss Williams I remember all the teachers names you have mentioned but only recognise one name ( Rosemary Crisp ) of the pupils , in fact i had a crush on Rosemary lol .i remember having breakfast in the hall every day and a big spoon full of cod liver oils and malt . it was what it says in the summer we had to wear shorts and t shirts , in fact i think most times we did not wear any tops and the class rooms and most buildings had sliding windows ( doors ) that could be opened fully . I remember the bee hives on top of the air raid shelter ( hill ) under the apple trees , had a wonderful time there. where is the photo of the scool plz
oh yes i forgot my bed number was 38
