Summerseat House Residential School

A Memory of Summerseat.

I'm hoping for help! In 1957/58 I attended a residential school which I think was called Summerseat House School for Delicate children.......we came to the school from industrial sites around Manchester to try and help our various medical conditions...........does anyone know anything about it?

Hi,
My nana went to this convalescent in the 1930's. Yes its called summerseat house and its still there in summerseat but its now empty. It was later used as a special education school. I've been trying to find photos so if anybody know it be great to show them to my nana.
I don't have photos but pleased to hear that someone else remembers it......how things change as a child it took my parents hours to get there on public transport now I'm living about a 20 minute drive away.
I was at Summerseat house from 47 to 56. I also have some photos of myself and other pupils from that time.
Hi

I realise this post is old, but my Nanna attended the summerseat house for delicate children. She was from Gorton, Manchester. I now live in ramsbottom and have since seen the house and shown my Nanna. She was sent here as a convalescent, although not sick she was just very skinny as her parents had little money and so was taken there to be looked after. Her time there was fine I think she just missed her family terribly though. I wandered if anyone had any pictures to share that I can show her? Thanks
