My Husband's Memories Of Surbiton, St. Andrew's Church
A Memory of Surbiton.
My name is Robert Madgwick, and I attended St. Andrew's as a Choirboy from the early 1950's until I went to Boarding School in 1957. My sisters Rosemary, Doris and Jean were all Sunday School Teachers at St. Andrews. The Choirmaster was Mr. Perkins, and the Vicar was the Rev. H. G. Ockwell. In 1954 the foundation stone of the new church hall was laid in Balaclava Road by John Boyd - Carpenter, M. P., with the Archdeacon of Kingston, the Ven. P. D. Robb. Does anyone have a photograph of the Choir taken at this event?
