More about this scene

The new David Evans store is on left; the original was destroyed in the 1941 blitz. The offices of the Swansea Evening Post are to the right. Now demolished, this building had variously been Town Hall, factory, jail, and post office. In its place there is just grass.

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

I remember walking through the old Castle Gardens on my first ever day at work at the old GPO office, 13-14 Wind Street in October 1976 - it was very pretty, unlike the concrete version that exists today.
