More about this scene

The Fylde area has long-been popular with holiday-makers, for it is well-sited for day-trips to the Lake District as well as the sea-side resorts of the Blackpool coast. As caravanning grew in popularity during the 1950s, many small sites began to compete with the already established holiday camps, providing facilities, shops and often entertainment in a purpose built club-house.
