Wembley High Road

A Memory of Wembley.

I used to go to the shops in Wembley High Road in the 1960s. There was a shop on the corner of the High Road and the that had the market in it. It was a haberdashery shop. Does anyone recall what the name of the shop was?

I believe it was called Killips
Yes definitely Killips, I remember going there with my Gran and
being fascinated by the 'air' pressure payment system, where they would the cash into tubes and it would go up to the Cashiers office and back down again with the receipt and change
My father was knocked off his cycle outside there going from Lancelot Road to Ealing Road and he broke his hip and had to stay in hospital for 6 months, on a rush hour weekday morning and it took us 18 months to find a witness. That was in 1966.
