Our photographic tour starts some four or five miles from the traditional source of the Thames in this delightful Cotswold stone village, through which the young river flows as little more than a vigorous stream. It formerly powered a watermill with the Mill House on the right and its mill-leet to its left.

I was born at the mill house 1955 what a life we had , I now live in Hampshire , my parents were Dr GC Hickie and Elizabeth Hickie
We used to love looking in the stream for cray fish, minnows and small creatures. We were fascinated by the clear water as we had no streams in London,where we lived. I remember telling my mum about the small creatures that looked like sticks and had bits of gravel and sticks on them, like a coat. She didn't believe me, but I later (many years later) found out they were larvae - I think of the Caddis ...see more
