William Street

A Memory of Auckland Park

I was born in William Street. I can’t remember the number but do remember the chap next door was called Charlie Peason - he had two girls a bit older than me. Out the back of the house there was a little chapel and up the road there was a school, I have a friend called Tommy Smillie, he remembers Auckland Park a lot better than I do as I left for Coundon in 1951. Hope someone remembers these days. My email address is if you want to get in touch. Thank you.

Tips & Ideas

Not sure what to write? It's easy - just think of an important place in your life and ask yourself:

  • How does it feature in your personal history?
  • What are your best memories of this place?
  • How has it changed over the years?
  • How does it feel, seeing these places again?
  • Do you remember stories about the community, its history & people?
