This view shows the main entrance. The North-West Tower is some 50ft high, and was built by Sir George Vernon around 1530. He was the last Vernon, for he had no male heir when he died in 1567. Haddon Hall passed to the Manners - later Rutland - family via his daughter Dorothy.
