Caption for Bonchurch, Village And Post Office 1934
Bonchurch stands on the steep slopes of St Boniface Down. Both the hillside and village are named after the
Devon-born churchman who brought Christianity to Germany. The original Saxon church may have been founded
by the saint before he went abroad.
