Shenfield Common Pond

A Memory of Brentwood.

Hi,
I remember this area very well, as I boarded at High House, and went to the Girls’ high school in the late 60s/ early 70s. Walks through the woods at weekends. Can anyone remember the tea shop in the area, I think it was called The Olde Logge, and of course the Seven Arches pub nearby?

Sian I too was born at the Brentwood Maternity Hospital in 1954. I was at the boys school Sir Antony Browns / Brentwood Grammar from 1965 to 1972. You are correct about the tea shop. The Artichoke was at the bottom of our "Chase" and I spent many a happy hour at the Seven Arches from 16 to 20 with my friends and delighting in the landlord Cyril's sniffing pint pulls! The High School girls friendships and short skirts still linger in my memory!
Hi,
I remember Cyril and Lena...as I had a part time bar maid job at the Seven A s! Thank God Corona virus wasn’t around then..the glass washing machine was revolting, with Cyril dropping his fag ash everywhere . Most of my contacts at Brentwood School were in School or Newman House. We use to visit your road for parties at someone called Jeremy’ s house!
