The Old School Brighstone

A Memory of Brighstone.

Does anyone have any memories to share about my Great Auntie Margaret Ainley MBE who was head mistress at the school, she was headmistress for many years and I would love to know if the school house where she lived with my great grandparents is still in the village.
She is buried in the local cemetery near to the village school.
Thank you

Yes I certainly do, I was one of her pupils from 1950 until 1956 or
thereabouts. To answer your question no, the school house where
she lived was demolished many years ago. The house stood in the left front corner of the playground facing parallel to the road
northwards to the T junction at the top of road!. As your request
is three years past, I don't know whether you still use this website, I joined tonight, to reply to you. My memories of her are still very clear, and would be delighted to share them with you. My location is now Havant, Are you still on the Island?.
Yours Sincerely
David Cassell
