Bude, Efford Cottage 1890

More about this scene
Efford Cottage was built in 1823 by Sir Thomas Acland as a summer home. It stands below Efford Down, on top of which is the Storm Tower, also built by Acland. Octagonal in shape, its eight sides once matched the cardinal and sub-cardinal points of the compass, but polar drift has meant that the sides no longer align.
