Nostalgic memories of Burscough's local history

Share your own memories of Burscough and read what others have said

For many years now, we've been inviting visitors to our web site to add their own memories to share their experiences of life as it was when the photographs in our archive were taken. From brief one-liners explaining a little bit more about the image depicted, to great, in-depth accounts of a childhood when things were rather different than today (and everything inbetween!). We've had many contributors recognising themselves or loved ones in our photographs.

Why not add your memory today and become part of our Memories Community to help others in the future delve back into their past.

The YMCA had a British Boys for British Farms (BBBF) Training Centre in Burscough at Williamson House from 1941 - 47. I would like to know where it was and to find people who were in or had connections with BBBF. My email address is: stephenmilner222@btinternet.com.
Hi, I worked on a farming scheme in1953 when I was 15, we lived in a wooden built hostel just down from the railway station as you came out and turned right, you turned right again and it was set back from the road. I would love to find out where it was, and possibly the farm too, I've looked on maps, but no luck. Can you help? Thanks, Tom Middle.
This picture shows the house I live in! My father renovated this house with loving care and now I am lucky enough to reside here.
