Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

The huge 1919 wing of Harris's factory contrasts with the one-storey Carnegie Library. The library was built in 1904-05 with £1200 donated by Andrew Carnegie, the American philanthropist. Thomas Harris also donated £400, as well as the land. The librarian Sue Boddington's book A Source of Pride gives a delightful insight into its history. In 1940 'the Reading Rooms were taken over by the Food Office and became a centre for the issue and stamping of ration books'. The place was gas-lit and heated by steam from Harris's up until 1951. It is currently undergoing renovation with the view to its opening as a Heritage Centre.
