More about this scene

At the top of Church Hill we find this Swedish-style church, built in 1902 at a cost of £2678. It contains a stained glass window commemorating Sir Frederick Charles Doveton Sturdee, Bt, GCM, KCMG, CVO, who died in 1925. He won the Battle of the Falklands in 1914, and also began the setting up of a fund to preserve the 'Victory' in 1920. His grave, in St Peter's, Frimley, contains a cross made up of wood from that ship.
