Brackendale 1908

I have never been here but recently I found out that my grandmother worked in Brackendale Road, the name of the house was 'Calder'. She was a cook there, I guess for some well-to-do lady. Can anyone help out?

RE: RE: Where my Grand Mother Worked

Hi Brenda, many thanks for offering to help out with my query.
All I know is that my grand mother, worked at 'Calder', Brackendale Road, Camberley, she was a cook there so I guess from the census record for 1911, it was for the widow of a wealthy gent. I think what I am looking for is, were the people she was working for, were they famous/ nobility? etc. Her husband to be was stationed at Aldershot at the time. I am trying to track her movements around, as she was born in Wiltshire, she went into service aged 13. Her name was Beatrice Mary Waite.
I would be grateful for any information at all.
Many thanks.

RE: RE: Where my Grand Mother Worked

Hi Robert, I don't mind going to Brackendale Road, and looking to see if there still is a house there named Calder. It was a very long time ago that your grandmother worked there as a cook, so I don't suppose the people that live there now would know anything really. Best Wishes, Brenda.
