A Memory of Carlton in Lindrick.

Hi, my husband was born and raised (until the age of 5) in a part-railway carriage on land known locally as The Ranch . I can't find any mention of these in any documents and was wondering if any body has a photo or knowledge they can share with us. Many thanks, joan Pearson

I remember the 'Ranch', Terry Green had a riding school down there when I was a child. I used to sit in my gran's back bedroom window looking out at the horses. I also used to watch the buckets tipping onto the pit tip from Firbeck Colliery. My gran lived on Highfield Villas and her garden backed onto the land between there and the Ranch
