Memories

A Memory of Cove.

I was brought up on Minley Estate on Twelve Acre Crescent. My dad worked at the RAE as I would think did many. Just read memories of Cove. Munday's the sweet shop. The butcher's was Harris and Webb. I remember the sawdust and the lady cashier behind an ornate cash register. There was Elite Fisheries chip shop further down. Going to The Rex cinema. Went to Cove Junior and then FGS. Remember Charley's sweet shop well. Was he a keen cyclist? I seem to recognise the name Dunbar from childhood. I'm Stephen Reeds and have lived in Liverpool for 30 years.

Brings back memories of this stretch of road opposite Charlies sweet shop, you can just make out the pond where we used go catching Newts. The muddy part on the right was where the lorries used to park when the drivers used the Green Café. Oh don't forget Mrs Pughs the grocers next door, lovely lady.
