The domes of the newly rebuilt pavilions are seen here gleaming in the sunshine. On the far left a statue of a Royal Sussex Regiment soldier looks towards the pier. Sculpted in bronze and erected as a memorial to the regiment, it was unveiled amid great pomp in 1904.
