Until around the outbreak of the First World War, Eastcote was a part of Ruislip parish, and it was in 1913 that the Bishop of London's Fund purchased land and a Mission Church was built. Additional land followed; after what appears to have been some behind-the-scenes 'discussions', the architect Charles Nicholson was appointed in 1932 to design the present attractive and well-detailed brick-faced building. Particularly pleasant is the Tuscan-columned interior, with its round arches under a wagon roof.

Morris dancers were often asked to provide entertainment at church fetes in the Harrow area in the 1980's. On one occasion the Whitethorn Morris dancers and their Whitethorn Band were booked to entertain at a fete run by St Lawrence Church in Eastcote.
