Living In Everton 50s To 60s
A Memory of Everton.
I lived at 24 letterstone st from 1957 -68 it was pulled down under CPO my mum and were Bill and Elsie Kennedy I went to Heyworth st school 57 to 63 ~secondary school was Toxteth Tech god knows why me folks sent me there when I could have gone to John Hammo. My mum worked at barkers as a toffee dipper and my dad was a joiner at sturlas (they had stores in the north) my nan and granddad were the Fernandez in Hamilton rd my dads folks lived in beaversbrook rd west derby~ my childhood memories are always happy ones (apart from my secondary school) I served my printing apprenticeship at Hugh Evans ltd I left Lpool in 75 for NZ and Aussi came back in 78~worked in printing left again for Zimbabwe in 83 came back 86 and have lived in Watford since then ~when ever I return it saddens me to see the state of my old town~ the poverty around breck road ~will I return to live In liverpool ~who knows?
