This earlier view of the Strand shows the Wiltshire & Dorset Bank on the left and the Commercial and Temperance Hotel in the far distance. Just past the bank is Tommy Bickford's chemist's shop. Tommy Bickford was a larger-than-life Exmouth character - he died the year after this photograph was taken.
