A Memory of Failsworth.

As kids we were always out on the fields and in the woods by Ropers pig farm...such a plesant smell come summer I recall lol
I remember looking over to clayton where sometimes a Scottish piper could be heard playing on the rail tracks.
One day a gang of us were sat looking over and a train came along and the piper dissapeared...it scared the hell out of us all...it haunted me for years!!
Some strange goings on around there...does anyone remember the plane factory? A pond over by bunkers hill filled with all aircraft parts...another spooky place thats for sure!

I was born in Alan Avenue in 56 and remember all you have mentioned. The piper was there every night at one time and the old plane factory was almost a playground for us. There was also a pond nearby with swans and Milners house on the approach to the factory was at one time a terrace of four small cottages.

Hi. .I never knew the name of the house. .are you talking about the large one by the plane factory? I remember a guy on a grey horse chasing up across the fields there!
Do you remember the tarzan swing ...the beast! And walking cross the pipe over the pig stream lol
