White Horse Cottages

Just wondered if anyone could help me please. We live in Old Harlow and have recently been looking into the history of Harlow and where we live. We were wondering if anyone has any memories or photos, or just any information at all about what were The White Horse Cottages that were situated next to The White Horse pub in Old Road. Thank you.

RE: RE: White Horse Cottages

My mother (whose name was Carter) was born in one of the White Horse Cottages. I remember they had large front gardens where I used to pick gooseberries as a small child. I played in the fields and would waved to the train drivers, who would always wave back. My grandmother lived there for many years. Mother met my father when he cycled from London to camp in the White Horse fields. Mother's much older brother was the Station Master, he lived at the cottage, the other side of the pub, at the top of the road.
