Spring Grove Cental School From 1949 To 1953

A Memory of Hounslow.

I was born in 1938 and lived in Isleworth, went to spring grove central school from 1949 to 1953 when I then started work at MacFarlsne the biscuit company at osterley. My school friends were, Rita Spindker, Janet Gamble, Christine Worboys, Barbara Kane I was in a mixed class I believe it was the last mixed class Spring grove Cental had. The school is now flats. I was in Gresham house.. I also remember Stephen Lloyd who was a year below me. It was a lovely school my form teacher for 3 out of the 4 years I was there was Mrs Bell she was very strict but a good teacher. Hazel née Stopps

While you were at Mc Farlene did you know Christine Barker?
Hello Hazel, I'm pretty sure I was in your class (form) at Spring Grove Central, I seem to remember Rita Spindler, and do you recall Ann Doncaster? If you do please make contact.

I was there from 1956/1959 then went in to Twickenham Tech (Hampton) branch
My name was June Warne then.

I was born in 1936 in Southall and lived on the Great West Road at Lampton. I was at Spring Grove Central School from 1947 to 1951. My Friends were Margaret Fabian, Pat Rumbelow and Maureen Randall. I went to work at Ace Machinery in Harlequin Ave Brentford as a copy typist. Mr O'Dell was the headmaster and Mrs Bell was my form teacher when I left. My name was Ann Carter.
Good morning,

I guess I'm a bit late to the Party but hopefully some of those who have made comments are still with us. I'm now in my 81st year and went to Spring Grove Central in 1954 until 1956 when I moved on to Acton Secondary Technival College after sitting the Technical College Entrance Exam. I recall my Mother was bitterly disappointed that I failed to go to Grammar School.
I lived in what I recall was the lovely Cranford and got the bust to The Bell, Hounslow and then the Trolley Bus to Spring Grove.Central.
Sadly I hav very little memories of my time there and can't recall a single Class Mate. I do recall the Headmaster a Mr O J Odell(?) and the one Teacher a Miss Beachamp who didn't take to me nor I to her.
I didn't shine academically - very much a late developer - but was pleased to leave and progressed reasonably well at Acton (the only one that I can recall who went to Acton. I remember some class mates there which says more about Acton than Spring Grove - and me!
After getting a good Technical Education and considering tworking in Aeronautical Engineering as a Student Apprentice I ended up in Client Services/Credit Management.which I thoroughly enjoyed.
If anyone would like to contact me I would love to hear from you via alan.in.spain@hotmail.co.uk .
