A Memory of Hyde.

Someone posted about an Edith Redfern. I have relatives in Hyde that were Redferns and wondered if anyone else out there is related. My grandmother was Doris with a sister Rene, brother Eddie.

My grandma was called Edith Redfern and she was married to Ernest Redfern. sHe had two sons Harold and Hubert. Hubert was my father and he married Hilda Stopford. In the 1940s and we lived on Mottram Road in Hyde and in the 1950s we moved to Gee Cross.
There was also another Edith Redfern in Hyde. No relation to us, but she had a brother called Alan. They lived on the road that ran along past the CPA mill but I can't remember the name but it ran into Hoviley Brow.
