Childhood Memories
A Memory of Kingston St Mary.
My sister Margaret and I would walk from our "Yarford Cottage "through the US army camp at Tetton Park on our way to school which was then next to the church. Charlie Barrett was the game keeper, Captain and Mrs Pawson were our neighbours. Across the street neighbours were Mrs Temlett and Earnie Early, Harry Kerton and his sons, Harry and Charlie who was dating Brendon Bowden. Bill Jones and their son David who went to Huish, now lives in South Petherton. My school friends were Jim Blake from Ivyton (my cousin) Richard Warner the headmaster's son (he lives in Shaftsbury, Dorset and John. Leslie and Rhona Manning. I was privelaged to have a life relationship with Agnes and Gerald Hooper, may their souls rest in peace. I was also friends with Malcolm Fudge, Fred and Stan Nation.
